Meet Misty

Physical Therapist / Myokinesthetic Therapist

Pain Management Treatment Focused Therapy

I graduated from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 1996 with a master’s degree in physical therapy. As a, Board Certified Physical Therapist, I have worked in hospital settings including acute care, orthopedic care, stroke and neurological rehabilitation, and outpatient physical therapy.  I have also practiced skilled nursing where I specialized in wound care. I have served a wide variety of ages and diagnoses in home health care for the past 19 yrs.  I have also found great joy working with Olympians in training, dance coaches and students, ice skaters and other athletes.

With passion to help people dealing with both acute and chronic pain conditions, I believe that pain can be dealt with on so many levels and I love the process of finding and bringing relief to complicated issues. I focus on manual pain management techniques.

For the last 8 years I have been treating patients in a ground-breaking technique known as Myokinesthetic Therapy.  In my entire career I have never found a more effective approach to pain relief with such undeniable results in both acute and chronic pain issues!

MYK addresses postural deficits and corrects and balances the nervous system. When the nervous system is balanced, the body begins to work the way it’s supposed to work, range of motion increasing and pain decreasing.

Among the conditions treated by MYK therapy are those such as:

  • Plantar Fasciitis

  • Headaches: tension, migraine, hormonal, cluster

  • Shoulder problems: frozen shoulder, rotator cuff, bursitis, impingement, post-surgery.

  • Carpal Tunnel, elbow issues.

  • Neuropathy: diabetes, chemotherapy.

  • Hip and other joint problems.  Limited range of motion due to surgery or injury.

  • Sciatica

  • Cervical and Low Back Pain issues and much more!

There is power in touch! When therapy can address the root of the problem instead of the symptom only, true healing can finally occur!
