Trauma Gates

There are many symptoms of trauma that cause dysfunction in our lives, and bodies including PTSD. The Trauma Gates™ process unwinds the nervous system by using a series of proven self-regulation and resiliency techniques. This unwinding allows the body to gently release trauma from the cellular memory and complete the trauma cycle that has been stuck and incomplete. As it surfaces it can now be dealt with in the present moment in a protected and safe manner without re-traumatization. Together, we will develop a new understanding of trauma while creatively exploring identity, boundaries, resiliency, and self-regulation techniques.

Releasing the painful, and sometimes terrifying effects of trauma gives everyone an increased sense of freedom and peace. This individualized integration process rebuilds mind, body, and spirit giving one a new experience of “BEING”! Upon completion of this ten-week process, you will feel integrated, peaceful, powerful, and free!

There is no substitute for the human touch!

Experiencing trauma at any point in life, especially childhood can have severe and long-lasting effects. When trauma is not resolved, a sense of fear and helplessness carries over into future life experiences. This can set the stage for further trauma experiences.

It is not uncommon for the memory of traumatic experiences to be buried in the subconscious. As a result, people may have been misdiagnosed with ADD, ADHD, depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder.

Many who enter the Trauma Gates™ process have experienced symptoms of trauma without having connected them with a traumatic event in their life. This may be because they cannot remember the trauma or perhaps because they don’t believe the symptoms are connected to the trauma. When trauma happens, it gets stuck in the body’s cellular memory and neurological pathways get disrupted in the brain causing emotional and immune dysregulation and body pain.

Trauma victims numb the pain to cope and their capacity to experience life is greatly challenged. The problem with numbing is that it is not selective. When you numb pain, you also numb joy and the ability to feel connected and safe in life. It is very frustrating and that is what brings people to seek healing!

What To Expect

The first appointment is to build connection, safety, and relationship. You will connect with your Trauma Gates™ Practitioner and complete a comprehensive intake form. Comfort levels are established, and agreements are made to move forward.

Next, 10 weekly sessions* are scheduled and performed with you fully clothed. You will be asked to connect to your somatic (body) responses through sensations: "Where is the pain? Where is the tension? Is it okay to touch?" Each session is led by your individual response.  It is important to note that Trauma Gates™ avoids re-traumatization and is not “Talk Therapy" or "Massage Therapy."

*Sometimes additional sessions may be needed depending on the severity of the trauma.

Note: It is suggested that clients are connected to a trauma-informed therapist or coach.
